Aug 03, 2023

LOGAN — Law enforcement have released the identity of the victim in Friday morning's fatal crash in downtown Logan. Tina Marie Jackman, a 65-year-old Logan resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred just before 10 a.m. at 200 North and Main Street.

Logan City Police Assistant Chief Jeff Simmons said initial evidence suggests the Jackman was in a motorized wheelchair. While attempting to cross Main Street on the southside of the intersection, she was hit by a cement truck, attempting a right-hand turn from 200 North onto Main Street.

Jackman was killed instantly.

Simmons said the male driver of the cement truck remained on the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. He was emotionally distraught following the crash.

Jackman was in the crosswalk, moving east, when she was struck.

Police believe the driver of the truck did not see the woman as he turned onto Main Street.

The case will be turned over to the Cache County Attorney's Office to determine whether any charges will be filed.

Law enforcement partially closed the intersection to investigate the crash. Southbound traffic along Main Street was detoured. East and westbound traffic along 200 North was also detoured.
